Chimitex S.p.A., leader in the field of chemical commodities for industry, has undertaken some years ago a new interesting challenge with the production of ferric chloride, compliant with the UNI EN 888 Regulation for drinking water, directly in our plant, designed with innovative materials and situated in Fagnano Olona.
We have been working in the chemical field since 1946 and during the years our company, beside being a distributor, has become a producer of a wide range of chemicals. Thanks to this choice we can produce up to 300 t per day, ensuring the highest efficiency and competitiveness.
According to the European Directive, we have to foresee a significant increase of ferric chloride consumption for water treatment. Chimitex has important cooperations with international suppliers for the purchase of high quality raw materials.
Our strengths are quality, safety and logistic organization: we have an extensive fleet of tanker and trucks all provided of the necessary permissions for the transport of dangerous goods according to Italian and international regulations.
Our ferric chloride
Ferric chloride is the Iron III salt of hydrochloric acid. It is a yellow-brown liquid. The main use are: depuration of urban and industrial waste water; potabilization of drinking water; odour control during the treatment; as a catalyst; as oxidizing agent; in some cases in agriculture for treating iron chlorosis; in the field of electronics for circuit board etching, since ferric chloride can corrode copper.
Ferric chloride can also be used in dephosphatation, in the treatment of boilers feedwater, in bitumen processing.
Ferric chloride is corrosive and irritant, so it is important to take into consideration the danger degree and all the regulations regarding safety, storage, handling and use of the product, that You can find in the Safety Data Sheet provided by us.
Italian market for ferric chloride is esteemed at 120,000-130,000 t /year, most part in the public sector; the most common concentration is about 40%. For the storage ebonite coated steel or bisphenolic polyester and PVC are recommended. Our laboratory can make in-depth analyses with the best equipment, so that we can ensure to customers top quality and just-in-time deliveries.
