Surfactants/solubilizers
Surfactans are essential raw materials in cosmetics, for the production of detergents, creams and conditioners. They lower the surface tension, so that a better cleansing effect and the production of foam are possible. Furthermore they have a wetting effect (the cosmetic product can spread on the skin and adhere to it) and a film-forming effect (the cosmetic product can form a very thin film on skin surface).
Lastly, surfactants are essential as solubilizers, so it is possible to produce cosmetic products that look clear.
